Today’s Agenda:

Review of yesterday: Yahoo! Groups/Breeze Presenter

Creating and hosting a Breeze Meeting

1. Creating & hosting a Breeze Meeting (1 – 1:45)

You participated in a Breeze Meeting the first day of this workshop.

Now, you will learn how to create and host a Breeze meeting

For this exercise, one school district will host a meeting on a book talk, with the other two schools.

First, watch me as I go through these steps.

I will upload a PowerPoint to the share pod and prepare the meeting room for the meeting.

I’ll upload a book discussion talk file to the file upload pod.

I will enable everyone to be a presenter, so that they will have camera pod rights.

Refer to this informative publication for specifics on preparing your meeting room: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/breeze/articles/presenter_tips.html

Finally, join me in the meeting room and I’ll record our Meeting.

Break: 15 minutes

2. Hosting/participating/recording a Breeze Meeting (2 – 2:45)

Now, it's your turn!

Get into your school groups and create a meeting room to hold a book talk. (You can all stay in this room, so I can help you.)

Go to our Breeze account: http://breeze.boisestate.edu:8080/

Log in with your username and password (I’ll create a meeting for the BSU Literacy Department) Following are your login names and password info:

BSU Literacy Department: Login with your BSU email account, password is "literacy"

cambridge@boisestate.edu

westjefferson@boisestate.edu

westside@boisestate.edu

password: literacy

Select the Shared Meeting folder (as you will want to be able to access each other’s meetings!)

Select  “New Meeting” and complete the text boxes.

You will want to designate a custom URL so that you (and others) can easily remember and identify the meeting room location.

Enter the meeting room

Make sure that you promote the participants to presenters

Upload a file (a word, pdf, anything handy) to the file pod.

Upload one of your PowerPoint presentations in your school folder to the share pod.

Inform members of the meeting by sending a group email through Yahoo! http://groups.yahoo.com/group/fladproject/

Post the meeting on our Yahoo! calendar

Break: 15 minutes

3. Viewing the recorded meeting (3 – 3:45)

Let’s view the recorded meeting we held earlier.

Here’s how to find the meeting:

Go to Breeze manager on our Breeze account: http://breeze.boisestate.edu:8080/

Go to Shared Meetings, select the meeting, and then go to Recordings. The recorded meeting should be there to view.

Let’s view it and see how it turned out!

Break: 15 minutes

4. Today’s feedback/reflections (4 – 4:30)

Today we covered a lot of ground and you learned a lot of new stuff. Don’t be surprised if you don’t remember everything, that is to be expected.

What did you learn today? What do you need to still learn?

5. Optional Homework:

Invite some of the workshop participants to join you in the Breeze Meeting room you created. Try out some of the features we didn’t do today and see how they work. Remember, you can’t break anything!

Send an email through our Yahoo! Group to inform them of the meeting and time

Post a date on the Yahoo! Calendar for the meeting
