View an example of a Breeze presentation: http://breeze.boisestate.edu:8080/databasebasics/

Think of ways you can use Breeze Presenter:

Create professional development series

Present results of instruction

Create collection of book reviews for students and teachers

Students create narrated book reviews and save as Breeze Presentation to shared school network

Create on demand student tutorials

Other ways you can think of?

View how easy it is to prepare and publish a Breeze presentation: http://brc.breezecentral.com/createpreso

Next, you’ll begin to create your first Breeze presentation!

First, create a three slide (or so) PowerPoint presentation about yourself and save it your folder on the S:/ drive

Include a slide about your school (You could copy and paste a picture from the Internet if you wish)

Include your hopes for this project, what you’d like to achieve

Remember, save it to your folder on our S:/drive. Any files saved to the desktop or My Documents are automatically deleted when you log off of the computer!

Break: 15 minutes

3. Publishing your PowerPoint to our Breeze server (3 – 3:45)

Remember, the Breeze Presenter plug in only works on PC platforms.

Computers probably don’t have Breeze PowerPoint plug in installed. To check this, look at the PowerPoint menu.

Download the Breeze Presenter plug in to PowerPoint: http://breeze.boisestate.edu:8080/common/producer/BreezePlugin.exe

Install the program to your computer (You’ll need to have PowerPoint closed to complete this step.)

Watch me narrate my PowerPoint slides. (You can do this after our workshop today if you want).

Follow along with me to:

Customize your presentation

Setup our Breeze server to publish to for the first time

http://breeze.boisestate.edu:8080

Adapt the settings of your Breeze presentation

Publish to your school folder

What did you learn today?

How might you use Breeze Presenter in this project?

What additional skills do you need to work on?

5. Optional Homework:

Update your PowerPoint presentation to include narration and republish to our Breeze server.

Create another PowerPoint presentation of your choice for the project and upload to your school folder on our Breeze server.

Post a new announcement to our FLAD Yahoo! Group or an important date on our calendar. You might provide the link to your Breeze presentation!

Create a folder on our Yahoo! Groups links called “Workshop Breeze Presentations” and put the link to your presentation there.
